| The only Stop-and-Shop bays I use are the ones in South Ealing Road. I don't know how typical they are of the rest of the borough, but hardly anyone needs more than 30 minutes to nip into the Co-op, or the butchers or the pharmacy. For those that do, there are already Pay-by-Phone bays in some of the side roads. In other words, these changes would be no help to anyone though I daresay the council will get to fine a few more people. Incidentally, they tried to get rid of the Stop-and-Shop bays a few years ago so you would have to pay to park there even for a few minutes. The shop owners successfully saw them off as it would have caused immense damage to their businesses. |
