There is one fully accessible Underground platform in the borough. It will soon, after years of campaining. be three over two stations (North Ealing northbound and Northolt). Whoop-de-ruddy-doo! Planning has started for North Acton for implementation in....2030! There is not a single overground platform in the borough where a less ambulent traveller can legally be dropped off and then reasonably wheel themself to a platform. Step-free access withinthe station is fine but you need to get into the station first. This total inequality is whay I joined Transport for All and why I remain vehemently opposed to spending disproportionate sums on underused/used cycling infrastructure. There are far more disabled travellers in Ealing, ONS estimates c.30,000 with c.7.000 defined as severely disabled. |
