| Can anyone remember when the Ealing ( or any other council ) used to send those peculiar looking Gully cleansing trucks about to clean out the sludge in the street drains? They used to do it twice yearly in tree lined streets and on main roads and annually in non tree streets. But that fell away in the 1970s and simply does not ever happen now. Nor does the descaling of sewers which used to be done every decade by a company that was based in Derwent Yard, Using a bucket on a cable and a stationary ending winch. That has not happened in Northfiled or South ealing at all this century. And yet when it does block up or fail it's all "Due to the climate emergency" Absolute *&&%$£@S. It's to do with Councils neglecting their core services, contracts and politicised management. And the use of spun reasoning to excuse them of incompetence and neglect. The comes Thames Water insisting Smart water meters have to be installed to reduce water pressure and usage. Why. Because their warnings on overdensification have been dismissed again and again as not a factor in determining planning permission. Rather like the Fire and rescue services who also get ignored on safety concerns. |
