This afternoon  a man was found unconscious in the alleyway beside 13 and 15 Leighton Road. An ambulance was called. However, the paramedics spent 25 minutes trying to gain access to Leighton Road. They had no key for the bollard and so no way to unlock it and quickly access the man in need of medical attention. Eventually they had to park at the end of the road and walk to the site of the collapsed man. They said if it had been a more serious incident then that delay would have been life threatening. While the gap between the raised beds is big enough for the fire brigade and ambulance vehicles. That is of no consequence if the ambulance staff do not have a key. I have emailed Julian Bell and the councillors for Walpole and Northfields wards.  I want to be assured that all ambulance crews have a key to ensure quick access.
