These bollards are not light . In winter and in the UKs damp climate these very often freeze solid to the ground or jam from detritus from rainfall. Ambulance crews are not currently equipped with a full range of superhero traits. They are normal people whose superhuman trait is saving lives in a short time response using their dexterous skills and their trained knowledge. Many crews are all female. They have enough hazards to deal with without getting wet, and dirty trying to remove bollards in a hurry. And Ambulances do not fit through the gaps in many places. and not through any in Junction road. In fact, even a paramedic motor bike cannot fit through the gaps so like everyone else is using the pavements. |
