Another tired old Tory myth I'm afraid. The 1945-51, 1964-70 and 1974-79 Labour Governments all left office with national debt as a percentage of GDP lower than what they had inherited from their predecessors. National debt did increase between 1997 - 2010 so you have got 1 out of 4 right or 25%. Michael Gove would no doubt say that is a fail. Must try harder.
