| To answer the question, Gove is definitely more of an ideologue. If every British schoolchild is able to list the Kings and Queens of England, from William the Conqueror, in chronological order and recite the dates of a long list of British military victories from the Hundred Years War to the Falklands, what good will it actually do them? It will come in useful if they are a member of a pub quiz team but won't even raise the nations scores in PISA tests. |
