| In my experience over the past 40 years, there have been: Family bakers, Small bakers, Craft bakers, Independent bakers and now the latest label is Artisan bakers. They are all the same in effect as everything is made from scratch, by hand, daily by skilled and experienced craftsmen. This is a traditonal and different approach from churning out mass produced goods in a factory and/or supermarket. N.B. An artisan (from artigiano) is a skilled manual worker who makes items that may be functional or strictly decorative, including furniture, clothing, jewelry, household items, and tools. ...
