| The council owns and operates the parks and it’s within its remit to stage events in them, subject to the relevant planning process being followed. It’s why we have the very successful summer festivals in Walpole. I think the key issue with this proposal is that it’s not being done openly and transparently. It was discussed two years ago then put on hold until after the election. We know why, but the opposition parties are missing an open goal here by not demanding to know the financial benefit to the council and where that money will be spent? It’s a public park and if the people of Ealing are to be deprived of it for three years then it should’ve the people of Ealing who benefit from the money. We won’t, of course. |
