| My Daughter is a fully qualified NCTJ holding journalist and currently working as a fact checker. ' Twenty is Plenty ' is an affiliated organisation and does not have any source or validification to its surveys and published facts. Just like Ealing has refused to publish accurate and clear accident figures in residential streets and TFL making claims that simply cannot be substantiated. If a street has had zero fatalities over 75 years then how can a claim be made of 'x' amount of live being saved in 12 or 24 months. It cannot be compared with no data or roe incidents. Again organisations publishing unsubstatianal data is both misleading and contributes to misinformation. So when making a criticism of a publication and its sources, make sure your own sources are 100% true and robust. That's very difficult to do and why a proper trained journalist with sound experience is invaluable. Sadly very few, even in senior positions now have an NCTJ or better. And it is an industry which does not pay or reward well enough to retain the most astute. |
