| Getting back to the original topic(!) and specifically responding again to Andy Hillers interesting comments about an editors' code of practice - I suspect he's living in a world gone by. Do we think Trump's 'Truth Social', Musk's 'X', Jimmy Wales''Wikipedia', this forum and the millions of authored lines of text generated everyday all over the world on social media are subject to editorial standards? The current online communities with millions of authors, editors and news' posters far outnumber traditional 'press' news outlets. And finally in the very near future, text authoring and editing with be carried out by AI tools and AI systems. What editorial codes of practice will these complex software systems conform to I wonder? |
