I would guess that if you asked people who regularly commute by bike, all of them would say they witness or experience near-misses or dangerous driving on a regular, if not daily basis.
Being outside of a car makes one much more aware of how vulnerable a cyclist is, and how even small errors on the part of a motor vehicle driver (whether intentional or not) have major consequences.
I often feel like I’m holding my breath all the way to work.
