| I would challenge your opinion that cyclists 'want and use as much of the road as cars'. If you were to step out onto any residential street right now, or in fact almost any road, you will see that already over 50% of roadspace is taken up by cars. And that is before anyone has got into them. Once we add cars with people driving them, there is now a tiny proportion of road used by cyclists. The space taken up by an individual on a bike is a fraction of the space used by an individual in a car. |
