| Obviously Paul, Dominik and Ben don’t get irony but the story of the cyclist left with serious head injuries after being hit by an e-bike in Kingston might help them. He was using a cycle lane. The rider of the e-bike was being reckless approaching a sharp bend. The pedal cyclist, Mohamed Ress, suffered serious head injuries because he wasn’t wearing a helmet. The e-bike operators, Forest, won’t pay compensation because its insurance only covers damage to the bike. No motor vehicles involved (unless you count the Forest bike). Watch the video on the attached link. There will be more and more of this type of accident in London. Hospitals already report increasing numbers of injured coming in after falling off e-bikes, particularly the ‘Lime leg’, where the weight of the machines breaks or seriously bruises the rider when stopped. Just fancy that! Oh, and Ben’s nonsense about public transport costs is hilarious. What’s the going rate for using a Lime bike Ben? A lot more than the Tube or bus. https://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/cyclist-forest-insurance-ebike-london-cctv-surbiton-b1254796.html |
