We have come some distance here but Peter and Eric seem to have left you behind Ed. In one entry you are supporting Lansley's Bill by advocating GP Commissioning Consortia as a good thing. In another entry the very next day you go into a tirade about GPs,their self interest and salary hikes. Lansley's Bill puts both money(80%?) and power into the hands of GPs. Many don't want that. They fear clinical judgement might be compromised because they are also being asked to hold the purse-strings. My worry is Ed that neither you nor my illustrious MP have made any sensible or coherent case for the Bill. From you I get "all nurses are against it" and I never wrote that and from our MP my wife receives some Tory crib sheet widely circulated in many constituencies with tone, inaccuracy and slant that does much to dispel her suggestion that "the natural break"...."is a genuine listening exercise".
