There is this strange view that if something costs more it must be better. I view someone paying £1.50 for something in Boots or Tescos when they can get it in Poundland for a pound as just plain stupid. Why support shops that are ripping you off? As to travelling by tube to Ealing, obviously you haven't been through Ealing Broadway station: cramped, claustrophobic, no disabled access, unpleasant and illiterate staff (check out the spelling of the words on the big signs at the top of the main staircase entrance to the station. Neither the staff, nor the stationmaster, nor the signmaker seem to possess a dictionary! You are talkng about expensive shops that appeal to the empty-headed snobs like yourselves. Sensible people buy the same products at 30 to 50 per cent less from ASDA, the big Tesco superstores and online. ANYTHING available in Robert Dyas can be bought for significantly less money elsewhere: especially its so-called "discounted" products. By the way, the Monty's next to the now closed Post Office in the shopping centre closed a couple of years ago moving to Southall. When was the last time you were actually in the shoping centre itself? |
