What a shame people feel like this about Ealing. In the current economic climate I think we are hanging in there. We have high street chains such as New Look, H & M, Monsoon, Next, Fat Face, Office etc We have homeware shops such as Cargo, Whisk, Kitchen Ideas and Robert Dyas. Music from HMV and Oxfam music, Books from Waterstones, Oxfam books and the other charity shops if people can bring themselves to go in and find a bargain whilst supporting charity. In terms of restaurants I would throughly recommend Monty's fabulous curry, very filling and at a reasonable price. La Tasca's not bad, The Lodge pub opposite does good food, La Siesta is great, Charlotte's Place is lovely if you want more of a fancy meal and I hear that Cote will also be good. I have lived in Ealing for 4 years now and yes it is changing and there is the danger that more of the temporary cheaper shops will move in but unless local people support the shops we already have then this will inevitably happen. As for the transport issue, why not get the bus or tube to Ealing? We are on 2 tube lines, 3 if you count Ealing common, 1 overground line, and numerous bus routes. Some of which will take you to Westfield should you be that disappointed. |
