| Although the current lack of proper managed "kiss and ride" facilities is problematic, even more worrying is that the LBE CrossRail Specialist? Scrutiny Committee did not pick up on a statemnt made by the person from Crossrail (Simon Bennett?) "no kiss and ride facilites have been planned into any of the station developments in West London". So not only are there inadequate spaces now, there won't be any at all in the future and Councillor Taylor do not think Arcadia will give up revenue generating space without a lot of persuasion from LBE. The whole Crossrail Scrutiny Panel was a joke, with councillors who had neither done their homework nor been briefed by officers and not having a clue how transport was organised in England. It was embarrasing listening to their uniformed questions, which wasted a lot of time. It was also pretty obvious that apart from the odd councillor none of them ever really used public transport. |
