I seem to remember sometime in the 1960s that 98 percent (19/7d ?) of each pound collected for Oxfam went on administration. It was around the time they had a nice new office built for them and had too many dustbins and were selling them off very cheaply. Made a good article in the Daily Telegraph though. I think the only national charities worth donating to in the UK is the Salvation Army, and the various armed and civil forces support. And as for all those s*dding plastic bags through the door for clothes for private companies... |
