| My understanding is that homes in Walpole are serviced by a "combined system" of drainage. Rain falling on house roofs and there are many, join foul and waste water to enter sewers at interceptors at the boundary of properties. That's what happens in my road. Other parts of the country use a "separate system" in which rain water is kept separate and goes to rivers but foul and waste water go to the sewage works. If you are talking about road gullies then I think they too are connected to this "combined system". My observation is that many road gullies {designed to accept 7 day's worth of horse dung) have not been cleaned and are full of debris. Is this the reason the flood ponds don't fill? I'm not writing to make anyone look stupid. I am just seeking from the designers, if any, how this scheme is supposed to work. The previous writer states that he has read ......please reference what you read. The Ombudsman clearly focussed on the process. If this scheme was properly designed and important then the process might take second place to an assessment of the benefits of the scheme if any. |
