| The first step pf the Green Cross Code is to find a safe place to cross, where you have an unimpeded view, ideally not between parked cars. This may have worked in the 80s, but it's practically impossible to do so now on most residential streets, including those with schools. Maybe that's why School Streets are needed? And yes, you and I have made it this far Colin, but there are many who don't. I have witnessed a child getting knocked down by a car and it's something that has stayed with me for over 40 years. When it can be avoided, why anyone would object? |
