Why did the local resident who tested the water claim in this ITV interview that the coli levels he found were ‘over 10,000 cfu/100mls’? His Lammas Park pond test came back at 2,600 cfu/100mls, as can be seen in the EalingToday article on this very site from 4th March. The resident also claimed in this ITV interview that his reading was ‘ten times what is found in the Thames, at 1,000 cfu/100mls’. The truth is that the Thames had an average of 2,869 cfu/100mls as tested last year in 16 locations near Hammersmith Bridge. It was also tested this year in 14 locations and found to have an average of 2,267 cfu/100mls. On the 7th March, Thames Water isolated the source of contamination to Lammas Park, a misconnected pipe at a house nearby. There has been no new water in the ponds until this is rectified.
