The consultation and the application were extremely vague, The further information non existent. What did appear was vague at best. The total absence of Inpact assessments, safety and environmental met with a wall of silence. Misleading and incorrect information from local councillors and that's if you actually got any sort of response. Total avoidance by the local MP - Who was implicated in this process as a councillor. No proper input or even research into local history and knowledge. Choosing to listen from non local 'experts, some of whom have agendas and others with less experience than an office junior. Unwilling to accept genuine concerns. Yet this scheme was rolled out in record time with not so much as a notice on the scale or magnitude of works. Just fluffy and misleading posters as an afterthought. Now it's unravelling but there are still unverifiable facts and details. If there were a flood risk of such severity, every potentially homeowner would and should know and it would be on surveys and insurance premiums. They do not even refer to whether this is existing dwellings or planned future developments not disclosed. Or indeed where? This is really a do it on the cheap back door deal. Suits Thames Water, the council and potential developer partners. These should have been sub surface installations and the requirement , function and real purpose fully explained and notified and presented to the local populace, especially as it renders a large part of a key park seriously compromised for safe recreational use for all people of all ages. What is needed is a full independent investigation into the whole debacle and the truth fully laid bare. Won't happen until all the players are long away. |
