Putting political views aside for a moment, I would encourage you to research roadblocks to the building of more “affordable housing” so you can share more considered and less emotive views. For example, developers are largely listed businesses thereby focused on shareholder value. Developers use number of affordable homes as a key negotiating lever. i.e. A project begins with a target of affordable homes, developers bid, then developers realise the margin is too small and negotiate down the number of affordable homes to increase the margin otherwise the project does not get built.
Not ideal, but this is reality. Therefore, consider understanding and addressing root cause issues such as these when throwing out glib opinion. |
