"Everybody thinks we need more homes, but funnily enough, nobody wants them built near them. As a beneficiary of better transport connections, Ealing probably should see an increase in housebuilding. It needs the infrastructure to go with it like access to GPs and more, but there is a lot of NIMBYism by those who own their own homes who want to shut everyone else out." (16/12/24 15:51:00 Kevin Wilson) In some cases, NIMBYism is justified. The worst part of NIMBYism is the double standards of some people who practice it in their own area, self-aggradising for themselves but denying it for others in the given area. Labour run Ealing Council and its Planning Committee have such double standards people who desecrate the environment of others, belittling then as NIMBYs while practising NIMBYism in their own "backyard". |
