Burning garden waste is the best way to dispose of contaminated material or persistent perennial weeds. Ordinary compost bins won’t get to sufficient temperatures to kill spores and weed seeds. However the clean air mafia think it’s a heinous crime. Council waste facilities use hot composting on an industrial scale, which usually deals with such problems. Which was why the Stirling Road recycling centre was such a useful facility. A lot of people don’t bother with Greenford because it’s a pain in the butt to get to for many. But infantile bullying seems to be the way of those making decisions. |
