Not to mention that several allotment sites are suggesting diseased and contaminated vegetation be removed from sites and disposed of in ...er...garden waste. This conflicts with Defra and public health who point out is is an offence to move contaminated organic waste to other locations to prevent spreading disease spores and contaminating gardens parks and recycling systems. It should be burned in a hot incinerator or bonfire. Tho only safe means of minimising and containing disease, spores and virus from other vegetation , humans animals and insects. If it is removed it should be in sealed containers. As it is recycled vegetative waste has been found to contain spores and disease. So much bad advice has been made to appear authoritative by several 'right on' sources to suit current hysteria that they have opened a Pandora's box at the expense of decades old common sense from experience. Stopping vegetative waste at the most pragmatic time simply sums up the infantile bullying by the naive ladder climbers. |
