When it is deemed OK for numerous scooters to ride at 40 to 50 in 20 mph side streets, over take and undertake at speed on the Uxbridge road, Park illegally on pavements and at junctions whilst singling out one incident on a dual carriageway by a person with a history of mindless undue care, it seems to be a bit hypocritical. Driving any sort of vehicle from a push scooter to a 4 axled HGV requires skill concentration and due diligence. It is not speed - you can kill someone at 1mph. It is road sense and being a fit a proper person to be in charge of a vehicle. Yet we have declining standards, impossible means to prosecute incorrectly insured riders abusing the L plate system - simply because they can. Just the same as being responsible for ones own actions. In whatever field of life. |
