I doubt it, its just a living to him. It annoys me that its so clearly a money making enterprise. Yes, the bays are marked "no parking" and, yes, I know there needs to be rules to prevent people simply leaving their cars wherever and whenever they see fit, causing inconvenience to others, but in this instance there is no common sense nor fair play being used, its just a revenue gathering trap for the unwary. I'd love to know how many people get thus trapped every week, it must be loads, and if most pay up a good business. I should also state that having driven for 35 years this is only the second ever parking ticket (if you can call it that) that I've had. The first, by the way, was a few years ago outside my own house when I forgot to change my residential parking permit! I'm usually paranoid about where I park to both stay legal and not cause disruption, but on that particular evening in Ealing it was perfectly reasonably to park there briefly, waiting in the car. |
