"Just to remind people that it is perfectly OK to pick up and drop off passengers on single and double yellow lines even where there are loading restrictions" - NO NO NO IT ISN'T - ONLY ON WAITING RESTRICTIONS (ie yellow lines, single or double) UNACCOMPANIED BY LOADING RESTRICTIONS - and even there only for up to two minutes on any occasion. Where (and when - check the timeplate) there's loading restrictions it's a legal offence to stop (without you're involuntarily stuck in a stationary traffic queue) even for a microsecond. If you're the Councillor Phil Taylor you've no excuse for such ignorance or propagating such seriously wrong info. If such apparent ignorance is widespread among our local political lords and masters there's even bigger problems than I thought. Or by saying 'it's OK' do you mean that the Council will not enforce the law in this regard despite its obligation to do so? - please confirm one way or the other? |
