| Hats off to The Breens, Bob Gurd, Mark Kehoe and Eric Leach whom I understand campaigned and worked tirelessly to save these surviving Old street lamps which I think look splendid in their refurbished form. I know Mark from school and he has been involved in trying to stop the destruction of a lot of the towns victorian and edwardian bit's and pieces that's at least 25 years now! As for the works, well the South Ealing speed tables will force a lot of drivers into the other roads like Weymouth Ave and the side roads which is what happened in other areas. As for Ferraris scraping humps well if a hump damages a vehicle at less than the nominated speed limit, the driver /owners are entitled to claim damages. So Mr Ferrari, and Mr Otherlowvehicle could end up costing us in huge claims. A London Bus company has also put in a huge 200 grand bill for damage to buses on routes where humps are involved. Again thise will have to be passed on...to us taxpayers |
