The improvements through South Ealing are funded by Mayor Boris and not Ealing Council. One of the election commitment Boris made was to attach less strings to the money he devolved to the boroughs. Northfields, Walpole and Ealing Common Conservative Councillors worked for the money from TfL to improve this "corridor" along South Ealing. The scheme was widely consulted with hundreds of residents living along the "corridor" and includes new paving, improvements to the cramped access to South Ealing Station, slightly raised zebra crossings to slow traffic speeds and a new roundabout to ease traffic opposite St Mary's Church. There are similar "corridors" being implemented along Northfields Ave and Boston Road. Councillor David Millican, Conservative representing Northfields Ward |
