| I can't find the link to the revenue document and I am not going to bother searching for it. You do not know whether the revenue generated for it was the driver (laugh at the pun, Simon, please!) for introducing the policy. What we do know is that the council produced a policy to increase the turnover of available parking bays, and to helpfully allow people to stay longer in the same parking bay without having to move their vehicle. If it subsequently produces extra revenue from a fairer parking system then so what? Parking is a key factor in deciding whether to drive, walk or take a bus. Therefore the availability of more parking bays will significantly influence the option for someone to consider driving. Have you ever heard of someone saying "there's never anywhere to park'? being the reason why they choose to travel by another mode? |
