An MP’s success in an election is not necessarily an indicator of worth in them. It might result from a lack of discernment in the electorate. Why Huq is in politics only she knows. Her success is probably due to a number of factors: she virtue-signals like a windmill in a hurricane; the effect of reading the Guardian on the lazy minds of leftie-liberals who live in the nicer parts of the constituency; the “woke” mentality of the young and “student activist” types well into their fifties; and, as far as the ethnic component of the electorate goes, the success in Ealing of Blair’s gerrymandering policy: Let ‘em in they’ll probably vote Labour. |
