| having lived for 19 years in Southall I observed that lots of people used to drive through Southall all the time which is why the Uxbridge Road and South Road were always blocked up.This is hardly likely to improve with the expansion of Heathrow not to mention the Gasworks development with its projected 4000 dwellings.Virendra used to oppose Heathrow expansion.We both attended a meeting on the subject some years ago at Portcullis House when we both argued against a third runway on the grounds of the effect it would have on the traffic in Southall.I see Julian Bell cited concerns about traffic as one of his objections to the third runway when Ealing Council unanimously opposed it. |
