| The idea that expansion at Heathrow will create large numbers of new jobs is a myth.The airport claimed that Terminal 5 would create thousands of new jobs but it didn't happen.A few years ago a Heathrow director said that only a couple thousand new jobs would be created by a third runway because of automation.Lots of people in Hayes work at the airport but John McDonnell opposes the third runway.The fact remains that many people in Ealing Southall constituency will be under the flightpath no doubt being woken up at 4.30 in the morning.Expansion will create 20 million extra vehicle journeys in and out of the airport.What will that do to traffic congestion in Southall? |
