A filming telling the story of 303 Squadron which was based in Northolt has been released on Netflix. As it history so close to home it is something that everyone living in this borough should watch even though it isn't quite the film it should have been. It tells the story of the largely Polish squadron and their heroics during the Battle of Britain. If it overstates their role that is perhaps justified given the tendency for it to be forgotten. The Poles didn't win the Battle of Britain single handed but their contribution was possibly the difference between victory and defeat. The ending might irritate some as it was a slightly clumsy attempt to link the events of world war 2 with present day Britain but the point remains the same - we owe Poland a huge debt of gratitude.
