Watched the film and enjoyed it. Can't understand how anyone would consider it boring as the narrative moved along quickly and the action scenes were good.

The danger here is that we see the Polish contribution to the war effort as just being 303 squadron. There were 15 other predominantly Polish squadrons across the RAF and far more Poles made up some of the most effective units in the British Army fighting in North Africa, Monte Cassino and in Northern Europe after D-Day.

Churchill was more than aware of the extent of the betrayal of the Poles after the end of the war but knew he was powerless to do otherwise. Yet their subsequent shabby treatment was shameful for this country.

We shouldn't judge people in the past too harshly though. The country was on its knees and, understandably people were focused on rebuilding for the benefit of its citizens. That does not apply to the present day. We are a prosperous country and the grandchildren of the Polish generation that have arrived this century have made a hugely positive contribution to our society. The fact that some think it is a good idea to deprive them of their right to come here and work is a sign that this country has forgotten its history and its debts of obligation.
