I suggested Greenford as its absence of a down escalator, or an up/down lift was to be remedied. Work was started but recently stopped. This state of affairs was brought recently to this forum's attention by our servant in parliament, Steve Pound MP. Another poster correctly stated that our grandfathers walked down (from 1904) without complaint. However I doubt if its their grandchildren who walk down the stairway now. I must say the description of the stairs at Greenford as mesmerizing" is most apt! However, for Chris's sake, if Doncaster Rovers were ever to play at Wembley I hope he would not use the stairway from Wembley Park station to Olympic Way. This too is quite mesmerizing, and worse, it's outside. As an aside, perhaps a slide similar those found in childrens' playgrounds could be installed at Greenford as a temporary measure. :) |
