Paul clearly had trouble comprehending most things. Let’s explain the the simplest terms for him. Lammas Park and its environs were supposed to be included in the proposed Northfields Conservation Area. That designation comes from the council and lays down strict guidelines for development, which has to be in keeping with the existing character. The CA proposal has been knocking around for about four years but nothing has been progressed, despite numerous conversations between residents and the council, public meetings and specific plans being drawn up. A cynical might suggest that the delay was deliberate to facilitate the destruction of a large section of the park to install the unnecessary SuDS scheme, which is definitely not in keeping with the character of the area. It’s also allowed this planning application for East Lodge to go in. Ownership of a property has no relevance. If Paul lives in a CA he wouldn’t be allowed to knock down his house and build a futuristic six storey block. The blame lies entirely with the council, compounded by its failure to have a Conservation officer in post for several years. |
