| Londons Population in 1951 included Greater London and Outer London. However overcrowding, overdensification, squalor and poverty, outside toilets, single pipe cold water and no bathrooms and no heating rendered London with unsustainable facilities. Hence the building of New Towns and why the population dropped as the New Towns were not included in subsequent population counts for London. We now have the same thing recurring that ti took the early post war period to eradicate. Overcrowding, overdensification and limits on utility resources the reserve sites of which have been sold off or built upon. |
