| New year, same boring sermonising Ben. Do you know what causes congestion? Putting barriers to movement on the roads. Traffic lights, junctions, crossings, LTN barriers, and as the article states endless roadworks. In most areas the traffic is pretty light most of the time. But perhaps you’d like to talk to all the people who travel into London in their vans, trucks, lorries and cars to go about their business in town. Bob Pishue, the author of the report and an analyst at INRIX, said that the capital’s congestion rates have “remained steady”, and attributed long delays to roadworks in the city’s key corridors, such as the M25 Wisley interchange. But if you insist on traffic being reduced, why not shove big gates on the entries to all the arterial routes? You would see traffic evaporate then. Do try something different this year, eh? You are just boring. |
