| It’s nothing new. Mik Sabiers was Bell’s fall guy for the LTN fiasco, and wasn’t bright enough to realise. Julian actually called all the shots and made all the decisions. The cabinet puts up with it because they like the perks of office. You will have noticed that Mason was an enthusiastic supporter of Bell until ambition got the better of him. Others, like Mahfouz, kept a low profile and have been rewarded with posts under Mason. This will not be a consensus council. It will be Mason+. He’s got his eyes on Rupa Huq’s seat in 2024 (little love lost there I understand). If he does get promoted to the Big House then we’re stuck with Deirdre..... |
