| Digging ever deeper holes for yourself Philippa. Did you forget that your beloved Labour Party presided over the financial crash in 2008? All the economic problems since stem from that, which was largely down to Blair:Brown stripping back banking regulation and allowing the casino banking boom and bust. They bailed them out with our money, don’t forget. Nothing changed as a result of that other than austerity and blame games between politicians. One thing you ought to have learned by now is that politicians are never prepared for anything in this country, regardless of political persuasion. But coming back to local matters, you tacitly admit that Bell and Mason and their cronies are in the pockets of developers. It’s down to them that there’s a housing problem in Ealing. They have been running things for 16 years here and had ample opportunity to build good quality, sustainable and low rise housing. Instead we get poor quality towers and ‘solutions’ like sticking people in shipping containers on one of the most unpleasant roads in the borough. Meanwhile they sit on their hands when it comes to properly maintaining the social housing stock they are responsible for. Did you miss all the ombudsman reports over the years?
