| I can understand the revulsion pepople feel about recent killings but If you look at the United States the States that have retained the death penalty have the highest murder rates, hardly a deterrent, probably more to do with the right to bear arms. As for the suggestion that it doesn't matter if the state ( UK ) executes/ murders the odd innocent person how does that tally with the original concern with innocent victims.You would also find that juries would be reluctant to convict obvious guilty defendants. |
