If they ask the Monarchy to sign the Brexit Delay Bill, that will contravene her Coronation Oath due to the delay taking us past the date the Lisbon Treaty kicks in from January. So let us hope some on the Privy Council advise her of this. Also if (as Berkow hinted), they bypass the Queen, Johnson would still be honouring her Majesty's instruction and signature on the last extension, as well as EU legislation, if we leave with no deal. Benn's new law not going to be as simple as many believe. There is also the chance as some think that Johnson has outsmarted them and has already rejected further extensions of Article 50 with the EU side. |
