Hi Susan! I am going to hazard a guess that Cadent is involved in project planning and preparation following the TV survey of the interior of the 14in gas main South of South Ealing Cemetery which will have mapped all the bends and forks. It is probably ordering, or making up components to address what it has found. Also the equipment needed to weld the plastic pipe sections together to make continuous pipe is expensive, they are probably have a limited number of them. I am not trying to make excuses for Cadent, I am trying to think positive thoughts and send them good vibes that this project unrolls and fixes all the leaks that have made the South Ealing Road the street "of a thousand gas leaks" As an aside (though relevant as it addresses the same gas mains) a large number of Cadent safety fences have appeared around several locations with lifted inspection chamber covers North of South Ealing Station up to Benny's Bed and Breakfast. There is a strong smell of gas from some of them so I suspect we will see action there first to fix the obvious leaks. Perhaps Cadent is looking at which portion of mains from the A4 to the Uxbridge Road to fix first to avoid digging up the street twice in the same place? Anyway, if anyone from Cadent is plugged into this Forum perhaps they could please appraise us on the timetable? |
