The plan for Walpole Park seems to revolve around obtaining a Lottery grant. The grant seems to be all about returning Pitshanger Manor and Walpole Park to its 'original' form when Sir John Soane built the manor house in the early 19th Century. I suspect the Walpole Park playgound was not part of Sir John's plans so its survival is possibly under threat.

Councillor Taylor is correct in suggesting that Housing and Parks make strange bedfellows when combined as a single Council Cabinet responsibility. Stranger still however is the Cabinet Leader himself (Councillor Bell) being responsible for Regeneration. Just how did he find the time to read and digest the 1,000+ pages of LDF proposals and background evidence papers?
