| Matt, I am one of the Northfield councillors and also a local parent who uses Walpole Park's playground frequently. My three year old keep's pointing at the gap where the roundabout was and shouting "Roundabout". It was an old piece of equipment but gave a lot of pleasure. I wrote to the park ranger who covers Walpole Park, Carl Smith, back in September about this and he told me they were working on it. Which is pretty much what the signs say. I know that the Walpole councillors have been nagging at officers on this too. It is all very unsatisfactory. These pieces of equipment are not that expensive. The person in charge of the parks is Labour councillor Hitesh Tailor. Strangely the new Labour council has lumped parks in with housing. Maybe you might write to him and get him to gee his officers up a bit. Try: hitesh.tailor@ealing.gov.uk Let us know how you get on. If you want to put him on the spot personally then you are entitled to ask a question at the next full council meeting on 1st March and get an answer from him there and then. You have to give a couple of days notice in writing. Let me know if you want to take this approach and I will give you the details. Alternatively it will only take 750 signatures on a petition to get it debated at council. |
