| In response to Graham Weeks, another difference between 1940 and 2010 was that English defences were bolstered by Polish, Czech and other UK airmen, Scots, Welsh and French troops on the south coast, and numerous other allies who joined in common cause. The analogy with 1940 is better seen in the success in Europe of "English" teams such as Arsenal, Man U, Chelsea and Liverpool. Like the English national side, the leaders are foreigners. Unlike the national side, the leaders can recruit their teams from wherever they like. |
